Printmaking
Pastels provide a very direct way of drawing and painting at the same time, and allow subtle blending and glazing. I use pastel for portraits, landscapes and figure and still life studies.
Precious mineral pigments are ground into tiny crystals and held together with minimal methylcellulose binder so that they play with the light and create colors that sparkle.
